A kit for the determination of serum amyloid A on routine biochemical analyzers. The kit includes a reagent, a calibrator and a control. SAA is an acute phase protein. After an inflammatory stimulus, there is a rapid increase in SAA concentration within a few hours. Determining the levels of this protein works as a useful indicator of inflammatory processes in the human body. Applications for commonly used biochemical analyzers available (Advia®, Alinity C, AU®, Atellica™, cobas® C, Optilite®, Mindray and others.
